Howdy!
It’s been a while since my last post, but life is sooooo busy in the summer. I have been accepted to show a piece in the Oil Painters of America Western Region show in September at the Devin Galleries, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. I will be in attendance during the reception on September 12 from 5:00-8:00 if any of you are in the neighborhood.
I also had three pieces accepted in the Women Artists of the West National show at the Joyous Lake Gallery in Pinetop, Arizona August 30 – September 20.
I will have a piece at Mirror Pond for the Arts Central Member Show during the month of September as well.
Also in September my husband, Ken, and I are heading for Diamond and the Steens Mountains in Eastern Oregon to do some plein air painting with the Plein Air Painters of Oregon. It’s a fabulous area with multitudes of birds, wildlife and views!
Now for the good stuff--I have turned a corner in my style and am beginning a new body of work using a looser, more painterly style. I am loving it and it has been well received locally. I hope you will check out my new releases on my website where I will be posting the first of this series in the next few days http://fayetaylor.com. I am now working on the second painting and it’s so exciting I can hardly stop to come to the gallery each day. If you didn’t know, I have a bunkhouse on my property for my studio where I put in a couple hours every morning and all day on Mondays. Doing something for myself each morning before going out to meet the world is a great feeling!
